Dickinson`s Candy in Old Orchard Beach

Very cool place. You feel like you stepped in to Willy Wonka's factor. Buy by the pound options. They have fresh made fudge and ice cream.

My family stops here every year and the candy and chocolate are always awesome - fresh and delicious. I was just there yesterday and my chocolate covered pretzels are wicked stale. Not the usual.

Awesome store, staff is amazing. If you need candy this is where you need to be.

By far the best candy store we have ever been too. We were pleasantly surprised with the huge variety and very fun for kids too. Definitely recommend over the candy store on the pier

This is always a treat for the children and the adults. If they do not have it there, do you really need it? LOL. The staff is very nice as well. If anyone in your party has a sweet tooth, this has to be on your list of stops.

Love this place. From the sampling of the fudge to the unbelievable variety of salt water Taffy. Once you walk in the door the smell of the fresh cooked popcorn is of the rails. It's nonstop.

no sign on the wafers that say to put them in a different bag than the rest of the candy by the pound. in fact, the girl on the floor said i could put it all together. i understand putting the chocolate, taffy and candy on the wall in separate bags but no signs saying to do so with the wafers. i go the register and the girl says, “for future reference, try to separate the wafers but for now its okay!”, come to find out the wafers are $38 a pound and the rest of the candy is $14 a pound. i had half a pound and my total came to $20.85, she weighed it all up as wafers and refused to let me separate them after telling me the cost even though it was my candy. i will not be returning after they scammed me $20 for $9 worth of candy. very unsatisfied. not to mention, the cotton candy was $6 a bag and they were not cleaning off the scoops and the employees weren’t wearing masks. wish i could give zero stars.

What can I say but....it's a candy store, love love love the dark chocolate coconut drops

This was one of the only ice cream shops open downtown due to COVID. I had my kids wait outside while I went to get ice cream and was shocked to see that NONE of the employees were wearing masks, including the ones bending down to scoop ice cream, despite the statewide orders on food service companies. In fact, the owner was encouraging other customers to not wear masks by openly telling them they didn't have to in this store (again, statewide orders say it's mandatory). I walked out without buying anything. Downtown OOB is hurting for business and it's disgraceful that a popular store like this vehemently and purposefully bucks the CDC guidelines designed to ensure the safety of its employees and customers.

Great variety and this place makes some excellent treats. They sell candy including fresh made taffy and other excellent options.

Dickinson's Candy is the classic american candy store. They have almost endless selections of candy to choose from! Kids will love this store but your wallet will hate you. Unfortunately, the candy does add up fast but it's worth it if you are buying the fudge or salt water taffy. This is where you want to buy your saltwater taffy at Old Orchard Beach. Many flavors to choose from and they all taste delicious. The taffy has always been fresh here as well. The fudge offered at Dickinson's Candy is among the best they I have tasted. Overall this is a must visit store at old orchard beach even if you are not a candy fanatic.

This place makes hand dipped candy apples that are so yummy. I like going here once a summer just to see what they have.

This is one crazy candy store! Ice cream, popcorn, fudge bar, self serve candy counters including sugar free, top notch decorating, flashing lights, the whole bit!The lights got me in the door. And I didn't come out empty handed.Dickinson's will bring out the kid in all of us!

After all these years as a good customer, Mike Dickinson refuses to return my phone call after leaving my business card for him. He got his witch to call Mrs and all point blank what I wanted!! I'll never shop in his candy store again!! Hey Mike, You can't charge your customers a $15 minimum to use a credit or debit card!!

Used to have alot more of my favorite candy but not so much this time

Way too expensive. I always go in because of the enticing decor, but never buy anything because of the outrageous prices

Oh my! We took our teenagers here for my husband's birthday in September. We had so much fun choosing candies. Salt water taffy, Swedish fish, jelly beans, candy cigarettes and fudge.....I love the penuche without nuts. We each came away with big bags of candy.

As soon as you walk through the door you are instantly hit with the sweet sensation of chocolates, fudge, and more! Everything is exception.. and a little secret; after Labor Day the sales start. 😉 today it was buy a lb of candy, chocolates and fudge included, get 1/4 lb in addition for free!

The staff were lovely and an absolute delight. The place was clean and very welcoming and we definitely bought way more delicious candy than 3 humans could ever need.I had one of their milkshakes and it was divine

Fantastic candy store. Amazing selection, you will find items you forgot even existed. Staff was super nice and welcoming. Their housemade fudge is fantastic and they are more than willing to allow you to sample a flavor you aren't sure of. Great location as well. Right on the main strip. We make sure to visit everytime we vacation in OBB.

All of the fudge is wonderful. The white chocolate raspberry and make walnuts are my personal favorite. The service is great, everyone is super friendly and helpful. Very educated on the inventory. Been coming here since I was a child and it gets better every time.

Quite a variety of candies and such. Came in at the end of the day so didn't get to try their ice cream, but very friendly staff. Will be going back during the day with the kids for sure.

Candy...forget about the kids, this place is great. Candy that I have not seen in years, old favorites, homemade treats and ice cream too. Right near the Old Orchard Beach Pier, great location and easy to find. Definitely worth a visit when in Old Orchard Beach.

Bright, cheery and colorful, “Mrs. Brown” was over-the-top-nice as she greeted us. Told us to sample a piece of Salt Water Taffy and let her know if we had any questions. Kids were in heaven.

Wow. This has been one of the highlights of my trip to Old Orchard Beach. Good ice cream selection, amazing candy, fudge and chocolate selection. Many standard items, but also numerous unique offerings. Definitely worth checking out.
